In Alex Livingston's digital paintings, discrete strands undulate like weeds in the underbrush, like DNA, like the cables in a computer, demarcating virtual space by filling it. The positioning of these compositions as digital paintings hints at the ontological gap in which this playful artifice unfolds.

Canadian painter Alex Livingston has studied in London and New York, and is Professor at the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design. His work is represented in the London Museum, the Department of National Defense, the Canada Council Art Bank, as well as in numerous private collections.
